Sonja Dolzer
Founder and driving force behind BURN-IN
Sonja Dolzer combines strategic thinking, cultural practice and scientific reflection to create a profile that understands art not in isolation, but in its effect on people, brands, organizations and social developments. In BURN-IN, she combines agency, gallery, GreenART and corporate culture into a mature model with cultural depth, strategic acuity and an international horizon.
From strategy, brand and culture to an expanded model
Sonja Dolzer's professional background is in communications and agency work from the 1990s. Questions of positioning, identity, visibility and the impact of communication shaped her early on. At the same time, her approach was deepened by her studies at WU Vienna and the Fernhochschule Hamburg - through the examination of economic, strategic and social contexts.
The diploma thesis "Return on Culture" was particularly influential for her work today. In it, she formulated an approach that still forms the foundation of BURN-IN today: Thinking about culture not just in terms of key figures, but also in terms of those factors that shape identity and development in the long term - including image, loyalty, resonance, cultural charge and strategic impact.
The BURN-IN brand was born from this understanding in 2009. Since 2014, this approach has been expanded to include curating and gallery work. Step by step, Sonja Dolzer has developed BURN-IN into a practice that combines strategic acuity, cultural quality and aesthetic experience.
Return on culture as a foundation
At the heart of Sonja Dolzer's work is the question of what value culture can create - for brands, organizations, social processes and artistic positions. Return on Culture sees culture not as a decorative addition, but as an effective factor for perception, identification and development.
It is precisely in this connection that the uniqueness of her approach lies: not playing hard factors and soft values off against each other, but reading them together. Strategy and sensitivity, brand and culture, visibility and meaning do not compete, but resonate.
BURN-IN was born out of the conviction that cultural impact can develop measurable relevance and immaterial depth at the same time.
Four rooms, one common origin
Regionally
anchored.
Internationally
oriented.
An essential part of Sonja Dolzer's work lies in the international orientation of BURN-IN. Over the years, she has worked with artists from numerous countries and developed BURN-IN as a platform that combines local roots with international thinking.
This perspective is reflected both in the curatorial work and in the strategic development of BURN-IN. Particular impetus came from international funding and networking contexts, including go-international with a focus on the USA and Japan.
The expansion of cultural and economic bridges to Japan in particular is exemplary of an understanding of internationalization that is not aimed at reach alone, but at sustainable exchange, cultural translation and new collaborations.

What shapes their view
As a passionate art collector, Sonja Dolzer approaches art not only professionally, but also from a very personal, emotional perspective. Architecture, psychology, literature and writing shape her sense of space, perception and language; golf sharpens her sense of strategy, tactics and concentration. Travels on all continents have deepened her international perspective. All of this flows into her work - quietly, but influentially.
Art as an aesthetic, cultural and strategic force
Sonja Dolzer does not think of art in isolation from life, organizations or social developments. She sees it as an aesthetic, cultural and strategic force - and creates formats with BURN-IN in which new visibility, new connections and new scope for action can emerge.
