KLARTEXT. A book is taking shape.

A visit to a studio in the picturesque Vienna Woods.

Petra Traxler-Pilgram, Sonja Dolzer

For Petra Traxler-Pilgram, BURN-IN collaborated with KLARTEXT to create a book that brings her work, language, and artistic approach into an editorial form—precisely designed, with condensed content, and conceived as a self-contained space of resonance between art and reflection.

Three months. Three minds. One goal: to make art visible—and tangible. Petra Traxler-Pilgram (artist), Lukas Dolzer (designer), and Sonja Dolzer (gallery owner) have collaborated to create a book that oscillates between thought and feeling. KLARTEXT as an artistic and literary statement.

Petra Traxler-Pilgram presents 60 graphic works from three cycles (“Spaces of the Soul,” “Worlds of Shadows,” “Existential Paths”) and “enriches” them with personal texts. Sonja Dolzer wrote the introductory essay “To Look Is to Engage”—a gallery owner’s reflections on perception, depth, and the courage to embrace the uncomfortable. Lukas Dolzer provides the visual backbone with a clean layout.

Art historian Gabriele Baumgartner broadens the perspective with her contribution “Seeing and Reading: Legible Images—Visible Thoughts”—an analytical counterpoint to the sensory world of images and text.

The result is a book that asks questions rather than providing answers. It stirs the soul, not soothes it. Plain talk, in other words—both in content and emotion. KLARTEXT is not a book that explains—it asks questions. It does not soothe—it stirs the soul. Anyone who wants KLARTEXT must be able to tolerate ambivalence—and that is precisely what this book does.

KLARTEXT was born where image, language, and design do not explain one another, but rather sharpen one another—until the work becomes a form that dares to be clear while preserving ambiguity.

Let's bring our work, language, and visual storytelling together to create something powerful.

An Artist's Book with a Distinctive Voice

LARTEXT was developed as an independent space for thought and imagery—not as an accompanying product, but as an editorial concept.

Three cycles, a condensed body of work

"Spaces of the Soul," "Worlds of Shadow," and "Existential Paths" are structured in such a way that inner connections, ruptures, and transitions can be discerned.

Image and Language in Dialogue

Personal writings by the artist and Sonja Dolzer’s essay create a space in which the artwork, the artist’s perspective, and reflection mutually enrich one another.

Design as a Supporting Structure

Lukas Dolzer’s layout creates clarity, rhythm, and a form that lends precision to the work without constraining it.

A journalistic style with depth of field

Gabriele Baumgartner's essay enriches the book by providing context, resonance, and connections to art history.
